Guildhall BIG Double Reed Day 2023  

 

Thank you to all that responded to our survey in June. We have designed the day with your requests and preferences in mind, with classes for players, teachers, and for parents.

We have kept the ethos of the day to ensure that every double reeder is welcome. Ticket prices have been reduced for every attendee.

Free classes on emergency quick fixes for instrument repair and reeds designed for parents

Reed classes

Pedagogy discussion sessions for teachers

Learn and play alongside world-leading Guildhall tutors:

Alison Teale, Dan Jemison, Gordon Hunt, Helen Storey, Richard Ion, Steven Hudson, Fraser MacAulay, Bob Porter, Rachel Broadbent, Rosie Cow, Rebecca Wood, Adrian Rowlands and Stuart Russell. 

Guest tutors include Michal Rogalski and others to be confirmed.

The day ends with a grand finale concert in Milton Court Concert Hall, featuring Guildhall professors and massed ensemble performances.

Everybody can play in the newly commissioned work for massed double reeds by award-winning composer Peter McGarr.

To ensure you feel confident on the day, all ensemble music will be sent to participants before the day, so you can come feeling prepared and ready to enjoy the occasion.

Trade stands and exhibitors are a focal point of the day.

Accompanying parents free

Under 18's and those in full time education £20

Adult Participants or Teachers £30

There are limited numbers of sponsored places for all ages, and bursaries are available to assist those on low incomes towards the cost of attending.
